La conférence reviendra en détail sur le contexte colonial du panorama peint de 1889, les représentations mises en jeu mais également les propositions contemporaines qui l'accompagnent depuis 2021.

Clair-obscur poétique ou clair-obscur politique ?
Ce cours propose d’explorer la dimension paradoxale du clair-obscur entre contraste et harmonie, rupture et continuité. À travers des œuvres de Jean Dubuffet, Alberto Giacometti ou Fujiko Nakaya, de l’après-guerre à aujourd’hui, il met en lumière la portée politique de ce langage, entre « sombres temps » passés et présents.
Conférence animée par Des Mots et Des Arts, avec Paul Bernard-Nouraud, docteur en histoire de l’art, diplômé de l'EHESS et de l’Université Paris.

In resonance Fog Sculpture. Cloud #07156, which envelops the Rotunda of the Bourse de Commerce, artist Fujiko Nakaya reflects on her practice of fog sculpture, using natural phenomena and technological systems as an artistic medium. This conversation with art historian Anne-Marie Duguet, moderated by Nicolas-Xavier Ferrand (Research Associate at the Pinault Collection), explores the aesthetic and historical dimensions of her work.
In Japanese and French, with simultaneous interpretation.

The Bourse de Commerce invites British composer, singer, and dancer FKA twigs, a singular figure at the crossroads of R&B, pop, and new wave, to lead a dance workshop in the museum’s Foyer.
The workshop will be conducted in English and requires no specific skills. We recommend bringing your own yoga mat.
The workshop will be filmed and recorded. By attending, you consent to the use of your image.

In resonance with her two films presented at the Bourse de Commerce as part of the exhibition Clair-obscur - Melted into the Sun (2024) and To the Throat of the Sun (2026) - artist Saodat Ismaïlova invites experimental musician COH, a key figure in electronic music since the 1990s and with whom she closely collaborated on both films, for a world-premiere sound performance.
The ticket includes access to the exhibition after the concert.

In dialogue with Fujiko Nakaya’s Cloud #07156, installed in the Rotunda, the American composer Kali Malone premieres a newly commissioned work, Love Abounds In All Things, for a 10-part mixed choir. The piece is performed by the Macadam Ensemble, a vocal ensemble conducted by Étienne Ferchaud and dedicated to exploring the expressive potential of the human voice.
The programme also includes several works for male vocal quartet from Malone’s 2024 album All Life Long.

The 10:15 am ticket on 26 June also includes access to the exhibition “Clair-obscur”.
