L’exposition « Clair-obscur » révèle comment l’art contemporain explore les angles morts de la modernité. Rites archaïques, aventures alchimiques, carnavals grotesques, poésie et sensibilité : depuis un siècle, les artistes cherchent dans l’ombre de la raison et de la clarté des chemins de traverse.

The Bourse de Commerce presents BORDERLAND — Act XIV, a film by French artist Melik Ohanian, the eighth guest in the Pinault Collection’s artist residency program in Lens in 2021–2022. Initiated in 2017, BORDERLAND is an ongoing work, now unfolding in fourteen acts, taking on multiple forms across its various presentations.
Programme
- 7.30pm — Conversation between Melik Ohanian and Dominique Quessada (writer and philosopher), moderated by Anne Bertrand (art historian and critic)
- 8pm — Screening of BORDERLAND — Act XIV by Melik Ohanian (58 minutes). In English, with French subtitles.

In resonance with the exhibition Clair-obscur, the Bourse de Commerce presents Histoire des ténèbres, a film by French filmmaker Anton Bialas, which summons the figures of Nero, Dante Alighieri, the Marquis de Sade and King Ludwig II in the intoxication of their obsessions – between ecstasy and damnation, fascination and repulsion. A family portrait teetering on the edge of the abyss.

Eight films by emerging French and international artists explore this threshold moment when light ceases to illuminate and becomes matter, wave, vibration.
Featuring works by Borgial, Ladji Diaby, Sarah-Anaïs Desbenoit, Leandro Katz, Sequoia Scavullo, Deborah Stratman, Louise Vo Tan, Yuyan Wang.

The Bourse de Commerce presents in the Rotunda, where Pierre Huyghe’s film Camata unfolds, Kyema (1988) by Éliane Radigue – composer and pioneer of electronic music – broadcast live by François J. Bonnet. The work extends a sensitive reflection on time, ritual, and states of transformation.
